This
traditional trattoria is a down-to-earth option in an arty
area just off the core of the Merchant City. Chianti bottles
bunched on the walls, brightly checked tablecloths and fresh
flowers give Trattoria Gia a rustic feel and a mixed crowd of couples, students and theatre-goers enjoy the homely atmosphere of this family-run restaurant. The kitchen is housed in a mini Tuscan cottage
which adds to the village feel, as do the cheery shouts of
Italian drifting through the arched kitchen window.

Owner and Chef
Daniele Giannoni hails from LUCCA - the pearl of Tuscany
turns his hand confidently to any dish and the menu includes
classic pizza, pasta and meat dishes from across Italy as well
as more adventurous inventions. Ice-cream dominates the
pudding
menu as is expected from an authentic Italian restuarant. |
